The Domino Effect in Novels and Short Stories

Domino is a game of skill in which the player places a tile on top of one or more other tiles that are already stacked. The goal is to be the first to place a piece that will trigger a domino effect in which all remaining tiles fall in a rhythmic sequence. The term “domino effect” also refers to any chain reaction that is triggered by the initial action of one person or group of people.

We’ve all seen those amazing domino constructions where, after tipping the first domino ever-so-slightly, all the others fall in a beautiful, rhythmic cascade of rhythm. Similarly, we can think of any scenes in our novel or short story as dominos that can be triggered by one event. If we do this well, we’ll have a strong plot with great momentum that will draw readers in and keep them on the edge of their seats.

While we usually associate Domino’s with pizza, the company has branched out into other types of food as well, including chicken, pasta, sandwiches and even dessert. Their research and development team is constantly trying to create new ways to deliver more of what customers want, so that they can stay ahead of the competition.

One of the keys to Domino’s success has been their focus on technology. They are always creating and testing new ways for customers to order pizzas, from texting an emoji to using voice assistant devices like Amazon Echo. Their world-class innovation center in Ann Arbor, Michigan is staffed with teams that are working on some of the most cutting-edge technology out there.

During her time with X-Force, Domino met and became romantically involved with Milo Thurman, the genetically enhanced son of Dr. Milo Boschelli, who ran the NSA’s secret Weapon X program (Domino’s mother was part of a fanatical group of quasi-priests that objected to the program). As with Thurman, Domino has the ability to control luck; she can unconsciously use this power to influence events but must engage in an activity in which her chance is affected.

Domino also fought against the mutant assassin Blockade, who was after her for attempting to download his mind into a computer at the facility where she worked. Later, she helped to rescue her brother from Hell’s kitchen and fought the new incarnation of the super-powered mercenary Gryaznova in her safehouse in Hell.

Another of Domino’s core values is to “Champion Our Customers.” Their CEO Doyle takes this seriously, and he often goes undercover to see how the employees at each store work. This allows him to identify and address any complaints that may be affecting the company as a whole. It’s a model that has helped to improve the company dramatically in recent years.
