Domino is the premier application development platform for business users and professional IT developers. It enables developers to build, deploy and manage modern apps while providing the governance, security and scalability needed to meet demanding business requirements.
HCL Domino offers a wide variety of features that enable the development of sophisticated applications, and is used by large enterprises and government agencies across multiple sectors. However, it can be challenging for smaller companies to find the right fit due to its high cost and complex interface. In fact, some users report that the platform has a steep learning curve and is difficult to understand without extensive training.
A domino is a game piece, or tile, with one or more pips (markers) on it that are used to indicate the player’s turn in a variety of games. The earliest examples of dominoes were made from bone, silver lip oyster shell (mother of pearl), ivory, or dark hardwood such as ebony with contrasting black and white pips inlaid into the wood or painted on to the pieces. Other materials have been used, including carved stone; metals such as pewter or brass; ceramic clay; and even frosted glass or crystal.
The most common use of dominoes is in positional games where each domino is placed edge to edge against another such that the number of pips on the ends of each domino match or form some specified pattern, such as a horizontal line, vertical line, or cross. Other uses include blocking, scoring and trick-taking. Games are played by individuals or groups, and the rules of each game vary widely. Some of the earliest recorded games date from the mid-18th century.
Domino was the result of a top-secret government breeding program designed to create the perfect weapon, but her “luck” powers proved too dangerous to continue. Her biological mother broke her out of the project, and she later became a mercenary. After rescuing mutants from John Sublime’s Harvester in Hong Kong, Domino was recruited into X-Corporation to monitor mutant rights violations. She later joined X-Force and foiled Donald Pierce’s attempt to download the mind of Milo Thurman into a computer. Domino was then snatched out of time by Halloween Jack, who wanted to send her back to 2099.
Domino has also fought the Hecatomb, which was resurrected by Flagsmasher. She recently led Six Pack in Rumekistan to free the 198, and she was part of Cable’s team on Providence when they defeated Hecatomb, but he didn’t let them do much damage until Deadpool re-booted him. She has since rejoined Six Pack and assassinated Flagsmasher in retaliation for his actions in Rumekistan.
