Domino is a mercenary, a mutant who has been trained to use her telekinesis and agility to perform deadly tasks. She has a knack for seeing things that are happening to others and is always quick to react. Domino specializes in precision strikes and tactical demolitions.
Domino has worked for a variety of clients, including the NSA, the Wild Pack (renamed the Six Pack after the death of leader Milo Thurman) and X-Force. On a mission in El Salvador, she disabled a combat droid that was neurologically controlled by rogue CIA agent Ekatarina Gryaznova. The resulting feedback caused her to lose control of her actions, leaving her comatose. Domino returned to her mercenary ways after she was revived by alien technology grafts.
During her time in the Six Pack, Domino teamed up with Grizzly and Hammer to infiltrate Rumekistan, which had been taken over by the anti-national terrorist group ULTIMATUM, led by Flag-Smasher. Despite her reservations, Domino assassinated the traitor and allowed Cable to take control of the country. Fearing his return to messianic-like behavior, Domino warned him that he would suffer a similar fate.
After reuniting with X-Force, Domino was recruited by Pete Wisdom to turn the team into a proactive black ops unit. She remained on the team until it was discovered that she was being possessed by the Undying alien Aentaeros, who was trying to use her for a techno-organic world engine. After the telekinesis was removed, Domino left X-Force to resume her freelance work.
In a 1983 study, University of British Columbia physicist Lorne Whitehead demonstrated the true power of dominoes – they can knock over things one-and-a-half times their size. He tipped a single domino onto a larger domino, which then tipped another, and so on, until the last domino flipped over a three-foot tall pyramid of dominos.
While we all know how to play dominoes and the basic principles of the game, there is a lot more that can be done with these slick little blocks of clay. Whether you’re creating straight lines, curved lines, grids that form pictures, or 3D structures like towers and pyramids, the possibilities are endless. And when you’re writing a novel, the ability to create such complex, dazzling constructions in your story can help to build suspense and increase your reader’s engagement with your characters. So how do you incorporate dominoes into your plot? Here are a few ideas to get you started.
