Domino (Movie Review)

Domino is a small, flat, rectangular block used as a gaming object. Also known as bones, pieces, men, or cards, dominoes come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be arranged in many ways to create games, such as the classic game of dominoes, which involves creating a chain reaction. Domino is also used in a wide variety of other games, such as poker. The term is derived from the Italian word domino, which means “flip.”

When Domino joined the ranks of Weapon X, she was a mutant precognitive with an ability to influence the laws of probability and shift odds in her favor. Able to deflect and manipulate electromagnetic energy, she could also use her powers to disrupt technology and weapons. Abandoned by her rogue CIA master, the albino Neena Thurman, Domino teamed up with mutant mercenary Cable (Nathan Summers) and helped hinder John Sublime’s Third Species mutant organ harvesting operation.

After her departure from the NSA, Domino returned to her mercenary work, joining the Wild Pack (later renamed the Six Pack) led by Cable. She helped investigate the disappearance of fellow mutant scientist Jesse Aaronson and the reemergence of her old nemesis, CIA agent Ekatarina Gryaznova. During a mission in El Salvador, Domino disabled a prototype combat droid codenamed Jericho with an electromagnetic pulse. Unbeknownst to her, the machine was being neurologically controlled by a comatose mutant named Lazarus, who had been implanted with a techno-organic device by the Armajesuits, Neena’s cult followers.

When she isn’t assisting the Six Pack, Domino works as an independent contractor for various clients, including the S.H.I.E.L.D.-affiliated firm of Cross & Co. Her specialty is large-scale domino installations, which can require days to build and sometimes take several nail-biting minutes to fall according to the laws of physics. She has a YouTube channel where she shows off her creations.
