What is Pragmatics?

Pragmatics is the study of the relationship between the meaning of a word and the context in which it is used. It also includes the way in which language is used to achieve a particular goal.

Overall, it is likely that children with CI have the capabilities of mastering several parts of pragmatic language ability, although a large sample is needed to identify the most significant components of the skill. If further studies are conducted to evaluate these aspects of the skill, further knowledge could be beneficial in developing effective intervention programs.
